Black River Peak
Starting from the magnificent Parc du Château de Bel Ombre, this 135km route with 6,100m of ascent will take you through the sugar cane fields and meadows of the Chassés de Bel Ombre.
Then it's on to the first hurdle, the ascent of Watook to reach the magnificent viewpoint of the Black River Gorges National Park. A few kilometers further on, you'll cross 7 large private estates that are exceptionally open to us. You'll discover unspoilt nature, where thousands of deer live without ever crossing paths with man.
Once you're back on the seashore, run 10 kilometers along the lagoon with a view of Le Morne to reach the Le Morne refreshment station, 95 kilometers from the finish line... take the opportunity to relax your legs, because the rest of the ride won't be easy. You'll have to tackle a series of technical climbs and descents to reach the Parakeet Trail, passing through Ebony Forest, Chamarel and the island's highest point: Black River Peak (828m). Before tackling the last 40 km, the Mare Longue reservoir offers a haven of freshness and greenery to recharge your batteries.
The hardest part is now behind you. After the final ascent to the Tourelle de Tamarin, with its incredible panoramic view of Le Morne Brabant and its fine sandy beach, you will have to cross 7 others differents hunting grounds.
The last 6 kilometers will be a easy route along the lagoon and onto the final Le Morne beach, where the finish line will be set up. Now you can take full advantage of the incredible beaches of Mauritius.
